This album represents the culmination of See Siang Wong’s trilogy, dedicated to unveiling Beethoven’s hidden treasures in the realm of his piano compositions. Throughout Beethoven’s illustrious career, he left behind more unfinished drafts than completed masterpieces. These fragments, some mere initial ideas like the Opus 109 Sonata sketches, and others more substantial concepts such as the Piano Sonata in D and the Piano Concerto No. 6, collectively illuminate his artistic vision. Here these gems are carefully curated and artfully reconstructed, breathing life into Beethoven’s unfulfilled visions. The album also includes the world premiere recording of Roesler’s Concerto in D Major, a rarity which was falsely attributed to Beethoven until last century.
